A Healthy Back-to-School Season Starts With Your Ed Snell’s Pharmacy Shop

One item you won’t see on your back-to-school list is the health and wellness of returning students. As the summer ends and the new school year approaches, Ed Snell’s Pharmacy Shop is here to help parents and kids to stay healthy during the new school year and beyond.

Kids’ Health & Wellness

For a healthy new school year, visit Ed Snell’s Pharmacy Shop for all your medications and over-the-counter supplies this fall. We recommend keeping your family safe with the purchase of:

  • Multivitamins – The foods we eat do not give adequate vitamins and minerals to support growth and development. Multivitamins are a great way to supplement the body’s necessary nutrients.

  • Vitamin C – Germs abound at school; help protect your kids’ immune system.

  • Elderberry – Available in syrup and kid-friendly gummy form, elderberry helps reduce the duration of colds.

  • First aid kit– Be ready for any scrapes and cuts. Check your first aid kit to see what items need restocking with a trip to Ed Snell’s Pharmacy Shop.

  • Probiotics – promote gut health that will help keep the stomach bugs away.

An Ed Snell’s Pharmacy Shop pharmacist will help you find every item necessary for the health and wellness of your family.

Continued COVID Awareness

With a better understanding of COVID, we have new resources to decrease the number of COVID cases near you. Recently, the FDA approved Novavax, which uses a different technology than previously available COVID-19 vaccines. It is a two-dose vaccine recommended for people 18 and older. Ed Snell’s Pharmacy Shop will update you on our vaccine availability and when you are eligible to get vaccinated at our facility.

Ed Snell’s Pharmacy Shop pharmacists also administer vaccines by appointment for our local clientele. For those experiencing any of the critical COVID-19 symptoms and warning signs, the CDC has provided a Quarantine and Isolation Interactive Tool with the most up-to-date guidelines on masking, isolation, and when it’s safe to resume public activities.

August is National Immunization Awareness Month

The CDC has designated the month of August as National Immunization Awareness Month. This image depicts a cartoon bandage.

“This annual observance highlights the importance of getting recommended vaccines throughout your life,” states Christina Howerton, Manager/Marketing and New Media at National Health Council.

Many children are still behind on their vaccines and must catch up before returning to school. Ed Snell’s Pharmacy Shop employees can help explore the CDC Child Vaccine Schedule with you when making decisions about the health and wellness of your child. Vaccines can help prevent:

  • Meningitis

  • Diphtheria

  • Tetanus

  • Measles

  • Mumps

  • Rubella

It’s just as important for adults to keep up with their vaccinations. As we head into another flu season, an Ed Snell’s Pharmacy Shop pharmacist can help with any vaccinations you need. We understand that doctor’s appointments are few and far between but don’t wait for an immunization we can administer at your Ed Snell’s Pharmacy Shop.
